The Chair has adopted two methods in the areas of human and
organisational reliability, respectively: CREAM (Cognitive Reliability
and Error Analysis Method) and FRAM (Functional Resonance Analysis
Method). These methods allow to analyse of the cognitive sources of
failure in the performance of a task, and the analysis of the
propagation of variability within an organisation.
The Chair has begun its network animation work by the organisation of a
FRAM workshop in February 2007. This event gathered North-american and
European users and was extended by the creation of an interest group
that exchanges experiences linked to the use of the method and concrete
results from its application.
